Iwan Kemp Posted March 10, 2015 Share I like Iwan and his build threads, this bike is going to be hawt hawt hawt! The fact that the grips are missing from the top picture must have seriously pushed some OCD buttons! Shot, thanks. Yes, and so too the lack of rear derailleur! sjeants Posted April 5, 2015 Share Hi Iwan - where did you source the Aerolite spokes? Was looking for them for my build but would have to import and was too expensive. Waiting for the real bike pics - looks awesome in teaser
Iwan Kemp Posted April 6, 2015 Share Hi Iwan - where did you source the Aerolite spokes? Was looking for them for my build but would have to import and was too expensive. Waiting for the real bike pics - looks awesome in teaser Tried the local agents first, but wasn't too successful. Took forever and then only half for the one build and a two thirds for the other build arrived. Decided to suck it up and order from wheelbuilder.com. They have ALL the lengths and ALL the colors options in stock and thanks to them using FedEx the spokes arrived within a week. sjeants
Iwan Kemp Posted April 6, 2015 Share This is one of the nicest bikes I have ever seen. In addition to its good looks, it is an extremely versatile build as well. with this bike you will be able to ride everything from XC to agressive trail with relative ease. Perfect for SA enduros as well. Well done. To get back to this: have been riding the Monkey in both 150mm and 120mm travel options and the bike excels in both. On smooth flowing trails 120mm is prefect and still slack enough to be lots of fun. When the trail turns south and you pop it into 150mm the bike transforms into a beast. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the frame to someone looking for a 120-130mm fun hardtail. Brian Fantana
