Great report!  We also took it slow, but never got any drinks or food from spectators - just lots of support.

Came sixth last in my group

Had a great time on the BMX

Hi Slowbee, you certainly did the race/ride in style.

I was fourth last in my group 496/499 and in the gender category 23891/24403.

My actual riding time was 1:57, but I had three pit stops and a few stops to assist stranded cyclists. I would have had more stops, but ran out of beer.

and you still under two hours ... !

No no, riding or moving time was 1:57, my real official time was round about 3 hrs, I spent the other hour on the route drinking beer (yes I know it is a pleb beverage compared to champers!) and chatting to interesting people.

I also failed to reach my goal of over two hours. Didn't realise how hard it is to actually take it slow. :whistling:

1h55 for me.

Like your report, looks like you had lots of fun out there.[/quote

Beat you, I dropped down about 20 groups to ride with a friend...2.01 had a great time

Oh the stats. Ride time 3h07, avg speed 14, overall position 31497/31966, gender 24114/24406 and do you know how hard it is to get last in your start group I was 536/548. I try so hard every year to be last in my group. Going to have to try harder next year!

I reckon you need to get better seeding - less hackjobs upfront - also means you get first crack at the massage tent so the hawt blondes are never busy. I came third last in my group, but couldn't hold a candle to our lanterne rouge winner - he was over three times slower than the group winner, and an hour and a half behind the second last guy.
