Yip, its pretty ridiculous. It came out a degree or two slacker than intended but it still handles suprisingly well. Super stable on the downhills and it actually tracks well on steep climbs.

The wheelbase is really long and the seat tube is steep so the front never pops up when grinding up singletrack

Yeah, looks as if it would be super stable. Also like the seat tube angle. Great for pedalling by the looks of things.

What's the wheelbase measure at?

I made a slight mistake when i was doing the geometry and the bb came out about 50 mm higher than it should be. It was going to be a full suspension frame but then i thought that a hard tail would be easier as a first attempt, and i just built the jig over my measurements for a full sus frame. So now im busy on version two. This one has a 630 mm top tube, 550 reach(horizontal line bb to head tube) and a 1350 wheelbase!

So Nova seems to be about the most cost effective route of getting proper butted chromo tubing. They often have specials for full tube sets at low $100 point.

My build has been frustratingly slow. I got busy and my mate that was doing the welding for me got busy. The combo has been horrendous. It would also have been useful to weld some key parts together first and fit other tubing around those welds. Lots of lessons to be learnt.

I will post some pics shortly
