Never ever am I going to the waterfront with my friends the day before the race - never again. I was so relieved when I woke up the morning before the race and remembered it was made shorter.
Prince Albert Cycles Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Did 1.45 on a Scalpel running Schwalbe 2.2 from 4A . Took it very easy out not aiming for a time but when we turned I saw 54 min on my Garmin and I thought to give it a go for sub 2 . Turning 67 next month . Am gratefull .

Piston ZA Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 What this thread has taught me is that I have to train more (or I'm just plain slow). Did 2h00.49 with slicks in my first CTCT from 7H (I think that was the group that got the worst of the head wind )
Stiggy Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Michael was in 1C. He's a powerful rider. On a road bike he'd be lethal. Must be the same guy I saw, cos I was in 1C and did a 1:10. I had to put in a full sprint at the end just so I beat him.He must be a machine! Averaging 40kms is no mean feat especially on a mtn bike.Super kudos to that oke

Still regret having put on slicks for a paltry 47kms - but hey, back to proper riding this weekend (if I can find anywhere that is still unravished by fire...). Anybody know what the latest status of trails around Grabouw is? Recall there having been some fires out that way last week...
