Was listening to East Coast Radio (or ECR as it is known here) on the drive in this morning and they were predicting good weather for the event and were certain we would at least have better weather than last year. Anyone heard anything different or can confirm?

I reckon 5h30 from Oscars. Very chilled 2hr ride then brekkie. That gives us the rest of the day to put the feet up and do as little as possible. Come and join us!

On my way down to Dbn from Jhb today I was getting a bit annoyed with all the road works and the traffic congestion it caused. My better half who knows absolutely squat about cycling tells me to turn off at Hillcrest for lunch. We end up at a restaurant called Oscars. Go figure? Took a drive down the race route towards Dbn and I must say from Hillcrest to Westcliff and Sherwood is a dream stretch with what looks like newly laid tar

fitted the timing chip and took the bike for a last spin just to check all is ok...that timing chip rattling in the front would drive me nuts.

a tip for anyone else who finds it a problem...i took a glue gun and 2 dabs front and back...problem gone and i can still remove it...if you dont have a glue gun use prestik or silicon.

gona be hot tomorrow...enjoy.

Gonna be honest. Think you did it...differently than intended (clearly not wrong since the desired outcome was achieved). Glad you got the rattling to stop, but in my experience these chips sit perfectly.

All done and dusted for another year...

Hot and windy conditions out there.

The last start batch riders are going to suffer.

Rode 3.06 this year, 22 official finishes so I'm fairly happy considering I have spent winter running only and not riding at all.

Well done to all that finished. It was tough conditions this year.

Ja, the combination of heat and wind really sucks the moisture from the body. I ran out of water with 25km still to go and got pretty dehydrated. Besides that, happy with how things went. A small break went away in A's going up Fox Hill and I was there for a while until common sense prevailed and I waited for the main group at the top. Happy with 2h44 considering the conditions. Hope everyone had a good day out.
