I'm very confused by the SAS seeding thing. I don't have one. Must I buy one? If so, where? I'm doing the 20km.

SAS is pretty much what they use up here in Gauteng for MTB races instead of a Racetec chip.

They will provide you with a temporary board. Or you can buy one I think it is R50 if I am not mistaken that will be your number for all the SA Seeding events.

Correct my bad.

im yet to do an event not organised by Advendurance using this particular number board. Wouldn't it be cool if all event organisers conform to 1 standard. No more tjopping & changing boards for various different races & not to mention the correct seeding for everyone.

Net n vriendelike waarskuwing aan almal wat gaan kom ry. Ek ry die roetes gereeld en as jy nie tubeless het nie gaan stock op met patches. Ekt nou getel, my agter wiel het +-70 gaatjies in van duweltjies. Maak seker jy het genoeg sealant in jou tyres, gooi dalk n ekstra 5l of so by!

I believe this is exactly what advendurance is attempting to do!

i noticed more & more events are turning to Sas Index for seeding but each event still want to use their own boards.

I'm a little concerned about the start time of the 70km (7:00). I live close to the venue and its pretty dark at 7:00 because of the Helderberg and other mountains that block the rising sun.

I'd suggest moving the start back to 7:30 at least or the first batch off are going to need bike lights to see where they are going.

The sun rises at 7:25 on the 9th May in Somerset West without the obstruction of the mountains, JHB its up at 6:36. So a more appropriate start time for the cape would be nice.
