Morning.

Going to visit the GF for two weeks and we will be spending time at her place in Potch and her parents in Middelburg.

Need to know if there is a shop that can replace a PF sram BB and straighten my hanger for me as i am bringing my bike.

It might seem like simple things but i went around potch last time and the shops there didnt look like they could do anything like that.

Please Advise.

Kind Regards from Aussenkehr NAM

If its a road bike id go to le tour cycles, mtb i will go to dingos(might wait a while though as these guys take their time, or i you are prepared to put pressure on them). If you need to buy parts you visit Park fietswinkel. Thats your options in potch. Try and buy the bb before you go to potch, chance that whoever you go to would have to order the bb is very likely. Good luck

And a MTB group leaves from his shop on Saturday mornings for a ride. I have joined them a few times.

If you want to come and ride in Witbank contact me as we also have a Saturday group.

Whatever you do, just stay away from Dingo Cycles and the owner Shaun Leach.

@Beesrib: I've never heard of Gecko Cycles. Maybe they closed down?

Park Fietswinkel is okay for just buying something. Good prices and more stock than the alternatives. Just don't let them touch your bike.

EDIT: For service/repairs you are better off driving to Klerksdorp. It isn't that far. We are quite happy with ExtremeCycles there.

Reason for my original post is this:

Went into the shop close to the varsity sports fields. The owner had a bit of attitude (probably because of my 100kg unique physique). He seemed like the wannabe pro who started a shop to get the perks of cost price stuff, also ill stocked and threw me the usual "we dont have said part but the shipment arrives tomorrow". I walked out claiming I will be back tomorrow.

Went to the shop that sits behind a petrol station where the intercape busses stop. They are well stocked and a friendly bunch. Looks like a family run shop that has been going on for years judging by some of their stock. But it didnt look like they will be able to help me as both my jobs need very spesific tools and not just a set of park tool allen keys.

At this point it looks like the Klerksdorp option.

Do you have a number for me so that i can contact them and arrange beforehand?

Kind Regards

At this point it looks like the Klerksdorp option. Maybe Pro-T Cycles? Speak to Leon.

As Sias said, Pro-T is good.  Perhaps a tad on the expensive side.  XtremeCycles is also worth a look.  The manager is Mike.  018 468 4579

ye sounds like I had the name wrong.  Must be the Dingo's place as mentioned.  Have never used them, but the Klerksdorp guys are not bad at all.
