I know hoogekraal do not have any slips like at contermans, but do the other trails have slips to prove payment?

there is snapscan available at the "honesty box" if you want to prove you paid.

indeed, but not everyone uses snapscan, so proving payment is gonna be hard

Also I am a cash kinda guy, so paying by card, eft, snapscan wont work for me.

Thanks to the guys at Decorton who gave us materials at cost, the Bloemendaaler descent is being rehabilitated with terralite blocks (not great in the mind of the purists but if it makes the trail rideable year round then I'm not complaining). The climb is completed and Patrick is busy with the descent.

Patrick is a machine... We here at Tygerberg Can be lucky to have him looking after the trails. I for one haven't had any complaints about the trails. they have always been looked after.  I read his section in the newsletter. I don't know how he keeps his sanity......

for that there will be marshals randomly stationed at the start of the trails to make sure you put your R30 into the honesty box. For all the other times rogue'ies don't there is Karma to sort them out.

Hi everyone can I ride from meerendal to conties and hoogies. I'm now a tygerberg mtb member after the Tokai fire Thanks

from Meerendal to Conties yes via the members only green corridor. From conties to hoogies you'll need to take the tar road less than 5kms. For this route there are no gates which requires codes.

Capping the amount of bike boards seems like a bad idea.

More bike boards = more revenue = more trail upkeep = more sustainable trails.

Bought a bike board, so I'm in before capping!

yes u can, and they would have emailed you the pin for the gates

The corridor to Hoogies from Contermans is on the gravel road which leads out from the coffee shop. Just continue on straight over and down the hill to Vissershok Road, then hook a left and carry on for around 900m. Remember that it's a members only corridor, so if rogue riders are seen, escort them to the correct locations please.

I took a spin around Meerendal last night after work. I have honestly not seen that place so busy, not even over a weekend. The congestion is crazy at the moment. I am not sure if it is due to the A.C.E. or the impending night ride that started as I ended, but sheez...people were even parking on the open grass area to the right before coming up on the main buildings.

I will have to start riding the lesser haunted areas now.

Thanks Karl - I'm not tubeless yet - do I need to worry about thorns?

Tubeless would be a VERY GOOD idea. I got TWO pinch flats on the first time I rode Meerendal, and Hoogekraal also gave me a nice 6kay walk back to my car due to a pinch flat. The trails are very stoney in places, and thorns are always a issue during the summer months. You would do well to convert.

Dankie - will contact my LBS now
