Wife did her first half this morning and her first 20+ km run. Did a decent 2:28 min ruN.

Took the boys with me this morning as spectator's. ....was good fun

She must have been near my sister then, she also finished the half in that same time.

My wife did her 7th. Missed her 6h though. Sad and happy mix. Surpassed both my dad and me in number of voyages now (but we are still debating whether a 6h+ is allowed) - clearly we are sore losers... Kudos to all the runners.

Managed a 6h49min! Thanks for the bus taking me up ou kaapse weg, the moral support was really needed. Was a great run, perfect weather and thanks for all the supporters, you guys make the race great(doable)! Still walk like I was kicked between the legs repeatedly, but it was fun!

you bored? Sitting at the airport and you are causing certain things to contract in a way that might cause damage to a seat! You running?

Hello GlockG4

I cycled as a Sweeper.

Cycling with the Last runner out on the road.

Friday 2 Oceans Run Report from Bicycle Sweeper. Friday religous run.

I rocked up at the Start just as the Runners were Off.

Took a moment adjusting some things on the bike, changed torch batteries.

As i was the Sweeper i got to alternate between the Last few runners out on the Road.

My main runner was (Lincoln) from KZN, doing his first Ultra.

After cycling with for 5 hours he stops and ask for the Ambulance to take his vitals.

Ambulance staff tell me he is going try make it to his Wife, up ahead in their car driving support.

I push on ahead, looking to see where she is.

Not able to find her, i cycled on with the next available runner.

It must have been about 45mins later Mr Lincoln was back in my Mirror!

Going past Kirstenbosch the 7 hour Cut Off was called.

Mr Lincoln said he wanted to continue, last 6km.

Going down the M3 eveyone was cheering him on.

He finnished in a time around 7h20.

Big THANKS TO,

Saturday 2 Oceans Sweeper Ride Report.

I arrived at the Start just as the Runners were off.

Did some quick adjustments and changed my torch batteries.

As i pass the Refreshment stations, everyone gave a cheer nowing they could pack up.

Going through Plumstead i got the Rain, wet, wet, wet, Freezing!

Mr Friendly at one of the Refreshment stations helped me with a garbage bag to use as a raincoat.

Carring on all the runners suffered from the cold wet weather.

It only cleared about 2 hours later.

Once again i got to swop runners as they past each other.

I felt sorry for this one Lady doing her first Half run, when i heard she was on the Wrong route.

She had not seen the turn off for the Half run.

She had already completed the 21km distance.

Back to my ride, i got to race from each Cut Off till i found a new back runner.

Getting to UCT in time off 7H 30.

THANKS TO

Really really enjoyed it. Such a well organised event - and Expo! I will be back.

First half done - bring on the Safari! Though... knowing how I felt Sat and Sun, I was not my mother's most clever child when I entered (just for fun) the World Run... the Sunday after the Safari!  One day's rest, it will be torture. Suspect that car is going to catch me before I've warmed up!
