Hi

Can anyone recommend an easy MTB trail. Bought my wife a mountain bike. Baby steps first to build the confidence, gearing etc. A few places will be out of bounds for a while, I know. Southern Suburbs side preferably for now but I'm open to anything. Thanks

Both options looking good. Thanks

What about wine farms? There should be a few easy going ones if we are to be allowed to enter.

Meerendal. Out of the way, but easy and ridable - and pretty and memorable.

Yip, that and Bloemendal. The B-Spot is a really great spot to learn skills, took my girlfriend there recently, she loved it.

Wouldn't the 'Mineshaft' (think it's called that) be a bit much for a first time rider?

tokai east. it's a flat track of asphalt stuff but good offroad practice getting familiar with the bike.

Where approximately is this ? Not part of the fire damage area is it ?

Take it very easy if she is still really new to the sport and make sure she enjoy it rather than giving her a trail with quite a climb that will break her spirit. Koeberg with the flat terrain and wild life should be perfect to get her hooked - if the wind is not too bad. No real skill building though...

If she has been out a bit - Above is quite a few nice suggestions. Just make sure she will enjoy it with her fitness level.

Wish I could go out with my wife...

Maybe, but newbies can stick to the yellow/green(?) trails around the vineyards without doing Mineshaft, Stairway etc

Follow the yellow arrows. The green takes one down mineshaft and up stairway. I usually skip those bits when I take newbs as the rest of the green ST is actually quite rideable for starters. The yellow is mostly around vineyard. And not much in the way of hills

Koeberg has enough to offer for the really new riders, if its too mellow for her it won't be a wasted trip as the wildlife and views make it worth your while anyway. I'd then move on to Meerendal as mentioned in previous post, avoid the mine shaft if new to the scene. Enjoy, we all started somewhere.

Fairy Garden :cursing:

Not for a total newbie, can be quite daunting... i think he is looking for something flat, jeep track like for now...

+1 for koeberg nature reserve
