samanthalloyd499 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 hey guys, just please be careful? was there last week wednesday, so on the 10th, around 10:30 am, went there to blow off some steam with two other girls after a final exam, we got mugged. but not very nicely. two guys jumped out of nowhere and grabbed our bikes, we came tumbling off and then they chased us and when they caught us, held us up by knife point and made us empty our pockets and they riped our jewelery off. so just be very careful. they literally just come out of no where...

Do that before you go out for a ride, wherever you go. It is the best protection from any harm and full proof! Blood of Jesus over me, legion angels around me and trust me, nothing can stand against that! You are fully covered then!! Just thought I'd share that with you guys. Njoy safe riding!

I remember Wyatt managed a sting operation at Olievenhoutsbosch a while back, when cyclists were getting hit in the Kyalami area. Shouldn't we be looking at teaming up with a security company and catching these guys in the act? Tech is on our side, let's get together, and make life difficult/uncomfortable for these bastards! At the moment, they have the upper hand. Just a thought.

Gather some intel as to their general whereabouts with every attack, whuch direction they fled, way of doing the attack, etc. Klapperkop is only so big, they too need to get away easy. Â Have some rider/s go on route and be followed by security. With all access to the area closed off. Then take a few sambokke and klap them untill they want their mommies

Very glad to hear that you came off mostly unharmed. try to get guys to ride with you (should not be very difficult at all). Not saying it will be safe then, but a bunch of girls just looks like an easier target. And get some pepper sray.

thiart Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I went cycling at Klapperkop yesterday morning, and another "black" technical section has been added just before you start the short steep section [called "Klapperkop WTF" on strava]. What a joy!!!The trails are getting better and better and with the effort being put in by the CPF and cycling community re the safety concerns, I am sure we will see more and more people using the trails.
