Do you have the correct saddle and setup ? The type of riding also plays a role .Lots of climbing with most of your weight on your feet and then. A standing descend as opposed to sitting for long periods riding flat ground

Hey blitzer, thought about my saddle being slightly to forward; height is spot on in terms of how my legs feel. But I do find myself sitting ride on the back end very often, not sure if I do this to try and compensate for the tenderness- worth a shot to move it back a few mm and see

If you need to try them on, bicyclegear is based in Hout Bay.  When I last spoke to them at the Cycle Tour Expo they said they were opening a showroom/store in the CBD, so perhaps phone them and find out whether that's open yet.

For those longer races I use Sportful Total Comfort bibs.

They have varying thickness of padding, up to 18mm where it counts.

 

They work really well for me.

 

Any ride under 3 hours, don't care what I wear.
