So my dad wants to sell his Trek 5500 but we have no clue what the going rate is for similar road bikes.It would be much appreciated if anyone can help me figure out the value of the bicycle. It has a carbon frame OCLV120Bontrager saddlepostSelle San Marco saddleRitchey handlebarBontrager rims with Continental tyresFull on Dura-Ace components It is in a prestine condition. Eugene Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 That's a 2002/3 frame with the older 9 speed Dura Ace. Not sure which Bontrager wheels they are, but unfortunately Bontrager's resale is not the best. I would guess, R5 500 to R6 000 if you are lucky for the whole bike.
Cat2forLife Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Whilst you have a very cool bike that was specced to the max when it came out, it is unfortunately quite old.. I'd also guess around R5500 for a guy that is really into these older bikes, but realistically expect to get around R4000 for it.

KidCharlemagne Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 That's a 2003. It sold for around $3500 back in the day. There wont be a big market for it unfortunately. So, while it's worth is around R10K, you'll need to settle for something closer to R5K.
