  1. Please explain to me how Garmin is way off with their pricing? Looking at the exchange rate with all the taxes included the price will be very close to Navworld's prices by my calculations. Not trying to be a box here but if you going to make statements like above make sure your able to back that statement.
  2. I've recently bought an Indola Enduro bib. One of the most comfortable bibs I've owned.
  3. Very sad news. Condolences to his family.
  4. Just saw the thread now. Sad sad news. Condolences to the family.
  5. Did my first 94.7 this year with my dad, what a privilege to be able to do this ride with him. I really enjoyed the day out. Prepared myself to get soaked but don't think there was a cloud in the sky while we were riding. Our goal was anything from 5 hours to 5h30mins but my dad started cramping on the Nelson Mandela bridge and we had to stop often at message points for him to get some treatment. Finished in 6h02mins if I can remember correctly. I at least achieved one of my goals of not walking on any of the uphill sections. I usually do about 200 to 250 m of climbing on my normal training rides. Not so many hills where I live. I can with honesty say that the 94.7 was up to now the toughest day I've experienced in the saddle but I enjoyed every second of it and will be there next year again. Might fit some skinny wheels on my 26er to make it a bit easier.
  6. Most of the people I know that travel to Cape Town for the CTCT make a holiday of it. Take week and half to two weeks off and enjoys a coastal holiday. Not too sure if there is any attractions in Joburg or the surrounds that will allow the same type of trip to the coastal folk.
  7. Entered for 3rd time. Lets see if I can get to the race for the first time.
  8. What really upsets me is the people mailing, sms'ing or whatsapp'ing to enquire about the availability of an item and after receiving a reply that it is still available, dead silence. I understand the message could have been sent in the spur of the moment but at least have the decency to reply that you aren't interested anymore.
  9. Respect for doing a 9min while commentating. I will not be able to have any form of conversation when taking on hills.
  10. I would also like a set of the thicker grips.
  11. I can do with some new tires. Done.
  12. Sorry if this is a hijack. It seems that all the online stores are slow to reply on emails. A while ago I damaged my XT rear wheel's axle and filled in an enquiry on all the online stores that I know off. Chris Willemse Cycles came back to me about 3 weeks later, still waiting for the others to respond. About a month ago I bought I spec B shifters and needed an adapter to fit them to my handlebar. Again completed the whole enquiry form on all of their websites if they have the specific KCNC adapter that I saw on the internet or an alternative. A couple of days later I received a response from CWC on if its M980 or M985 shifters, I replied to that mail and silence again. Seems the small amount of business I will provide them isn't worth their effort or time.
  13. I'm pretty sure you can get replacement axles for the pedals, or buy a secondhand pair of 520's here and put that axle in. Not sure but I think there is a special tool required to remove the axle from the body. I did watch a video of a 520 rebuild a while ago that can show you the how to do everything.
  14. I started out on 520's but wanted something with a bigger contact area between the shoe and the pedal. Tried a different brand for a while till I got myself the XT trails. Won't be changing pedals soon again. Great pedals.
  15. Thank you very much. Will give them a call this afternoon and arrange something. I have a pair of Juliets ruby's also that needs a set of replacement lenses. Just have to find where I put them when I moved.
  16. Hi CrankShaft Can you maybe give me the details or contact number where you sent your glasses?
  17. I have a set of Oakley Romeo 2's that cost R4500 in 2006 and now can't get replacement lenses or rubbers for it. Might look at Relevant Optics for lenses. Anyone know of a place that sells replacement rubbers for Oakleys?
  18. It could have been worse.......... It could have been me on the bike.
  19. Sorry for the questions but I'm used to working on car brakes and the only way I know how is to get pressure up by pumping the brake and opening the nipple to release the air. Can that method be used for MTB brakes?
  20. Thanks Wyatt The brakes are the BR-M775 XT's so older type. Still has the reservoir cap that you have to remove to get fluid in. By flushing, do I have to add the new fluid and bleed as normal till the fluid that's coming out is the same as top or bleed it dry and start from beginning? Or is there something I have to run through the system to clean it?
