the big question now...and not sure how you handle it....but manon did the exact same thing as connor ...but it just happens that manon landed by a pole and connor didnt....connor get 2nd place points..manon gets dq'd.

I get the need for the rules...and the need for the taping close to the track at that point was to prevent riders cutting the final corner...but there needs to be some discretionary around it...it was evident that she did not gain any margins and in that situation it is impossible to go back and re-enter before the pole - or even stop before the finish for that matter. Someone trying to cheat in that situation would have a clean jump...she boobled and went off sharply to the right.

here is the graphic for reference

it wasnt a winning run....but was at least a podium...so thats her title chase essentially ruined by that

Yeah stretch, but as Claudio said - everyone else has to do the same course. Manon cut out a pole. She shouldn't have, and that's her fault.

agreed...but she didnt do it intentionally....at high speed sections they need to be very selective as to where they put their poles because re-entry is not a possibility. she was dq'd fair and square...just very unfortunate circumstances

So here's a nice Friday question (seeing as tomorrow's a Saturday):

Why all the hate for Gwinn?  He is without a shadow of doubt the best racer on this earth right now and I don't see anyone touching him for the remainder of the season.  He's 27 years old with 12 wins already and although people undergo massive doldrums in their careers, I reckon the 17 wins record will be his to miss.

I strongly suspect people resent him for his faith.  Why?  Yes he is a bit in your face with it, but that is how he expresses his faith.  He is being honest and "real" about it.  The man is a genius on the bike and from what I've seen off the bike a class act.  But because he points to the sky after he wins he gets flamed?

What does faith have to do with anything. That's a big assumption you made there.[emoji107]

It's that stupid 70's style kit of his[emoji12]

in a nutshell - yes...but remember there are way more people who think he is fantastic than those who think he is not...generally religious fanatics are most verbal...so all the fanatic atheists go to to forums to express their dissatisfaction at his sky pointing

I dont mind him...but I just dont like him.....you wont see gwinn leap up and congratulate a rider on a great run as you do most of the other riders..and yes the sky point does annoy me a bit....BUT...as I said a few pages back...right now, he is a step above.

all said...I really dont like him cos he's gonna beat gregs record soon!

Erm no.. maybe the guy is just an ass.. who know and who cares about his faith.. each to his own.. but if he is not gracious in defeat then I can tell you that that's not very Christian like.[emoji6]

For me it's the stupid ass kit.

Blaaaa

Gwin was insane, I probably would have also tried riding without a chain, but one has the tendancy to pedal back a little and with out a chain you will loos balance very quickly.

His ability to keep his momentum above everyone else was awesome, and his concentration to not pedal was ridiculous. How feet stayed in that position for the entire run I think!!

At the best of times the DH guys are nuts.. that was just taking nuts to a new level.

Also to add, knowing that your chain is MIA you know there is no holding back and no room for error.. BUT still insane. .. these guys have crazy skill.

Nope.  It's very much because he isn't shy of giving thanks to god when he wins. The PB forums all alight with this crap everytime he wins.

Absolutely zero evidence of him being anything but a good guy.  So what if he doesn't celebrate when other riders beat him.  That's kind of what racing is about - winning.

And I assume you are joking about the kit.

I donno hey.. I think you can tell a lot about a person by the way they are when they lose. . But hey that's my opinion..

Don't think anyone here will criticise his abilities on the bike. . For the rest it's personal opinion.

And nope that kit is doooog ugly. . Very clown like. . Again personal opinion.

mental strength must be incredible, I break a chain at the start gate and I'm blubbing like a baby on the side lines at the first corner.

oh, and Brosnan needs a haircut.
