almost there revel is sold and i am short a few washers...

more people are starting to saying spend the extra R9000 and get a scott 940...better bike...i just wish somebody would let me test ride both bike at a track :( so that i could feel which bike suit me better...i just dont see how a lockout switch justifies the extra money.

it seems both these bikes have pro and cons...both the bikes are highly recommended...so i am down to which 1 feels the best to ride off road and feels the best.

i have my heart set on the anthem...but having to empty my entire piggy bank and not 100 % sure that the anthem is the better option and better feel to ride because i havent got to ride a 940 yet.

Easy. It doesn't.

The Scott is NOT a better bike. Plus, if your heart is set on the Anthem, then get that.

I agree, the Giant Anthem is an awesome bike!

My opinion, buy a good second hand one and take out insurance in case the frame cracks or if it gets stolen.

100% agree with that - always go with what the heart wants... You will forever be disappointed if you go with what your head, and in this case, what others tell you you should want

My piggy bank is completely empty not even coppers left in it and I am a proud owner of a brand new 2015 model giant anthem.

Thanks to guys at cycle sphere cycles...I got what I asked for at the price we agreed on...can't wait to setup and go for a ride...going from a revel to an anthem is gona a be a huge improvement...will post pics as soon as I collect...busy shuffling my plans for tomorrow so I can go do the setup [emoji6]

The 2015 anthem does have full lockout on the front and back apparently...just doesn't have a switch on the handlebars.

Congratulations, you are going to enjoy that bike.

Have to make a few minor adjustments to fit the bike...taken a large frame...fit the pedals...grips...tubeless conversion etc.

Will take pics when I collect...can't wait to take it for a ride [emoji3]

Any reason why you didn't go with the ladies specifc Liv models?

The change in geometry for the ladies specific bikes (all manufacturers) are mostly to allow for a different leg to torso length ratio.

In general girls have longer legs with shorter torso when compared to men.

However not all girls fit that generalization. Some feel comfortable on the "normal" frames.

One of the deciding factors for me...was the fact that I spend most of the time sitting...while riding and very seldom stand and pedal...in fact by the time I get to the 30 km mark I am even sitting on the single going downhill[emoji12]

Anyone have a link to videos of how to adjust the suspension while riding and what are the best setting for the different terrain...and idiots guide to suspension settings.

I can't advice on the fork as I run an Epicon 120mm fork but the rear if you getting it with the fox float. I run 25% sag, about 80psi pressure and the rebound is set 5 clicks for left to right. I ride mostly in descend mode with only steep climbs going to trail. I never used locked out, thats how good it peddles.

Let the LBS set it up and then tweak from there. Buy a shock pump and then experiment. Only change one thing at a time and test for a few days before deciding to keep it or go back to the original settings. If you tweak too many things you won't know what worked and what didn't as well as maybe losing the original setup.

Good luck, and enjoy.

Collected my bike today....now i need to get some dust on it...and yes the reflectors have since been removed and the seat leveled.

According to Hub rules the photo should be taken with the bike on your couch...........................

But don't worry nobody really cares that much over that rule.

Enjoy the Anthem and may she give you many happy miles and smiles! Oh and Athena might make for a good name for her.
