The big thing with chroming and copperplate is the prep(which is apparently the expensive part) normally involves a fair amount buffing and polishing and then the thickness of the plating itself. Looks like you went to the right guy though, looks amazing.

 

Approx how much does it cost to do the frame and fork?

Must say with all the rust off the bike looked great!

 

I considered just having it polished, but I battled to find someone and there are quite a few around.

Copper is normally the base for any chrome plating. Thats why they call it triple plated chrome. Copper first, then nickel, and then a final layer of chrome, with lots of polishing between each step.
