Here is my upgrade for R38k. Testing her out today. She weighs 6.8kg with a pair of Zipps 303.

Post like these will make me selling my TCR for a Propel. Stunning bike man. Congrats!

So finally made a decision... Placed an order and now a 3 week wait starts!!! Not sure my finger nails will make it!

Don't be that guy. What are you getting?

So I couldn't justify a Colnago or Canyon at R60k for a frame.

It came down to:

Cannondale Evo Six Hi Mod at R25k

Giant Propel R29k

Current Spez Venge S-Works at R43k

Evo Six was my favorite choice, but I was reluctant as it has external cabling and Di2 is pricey, so I settled for the Giant. In my opinion the fastest bike for its price by far.

BUT I really like the Dale, so now I want the Dale and will buy Di2 with it.

Question is, what is the big difference between Di2 Ultergra and Dura Ace, weight wise and who offers the best deals?

Looks like the Cannondale?

No...

I was looking hard for a Cannondale nobody had Di2 ones in stock, but Omnico said they could order me one, but I had to pay a R5k surcharge. WTF told them to get lost. Paying extra for the privilege of riding your high end frame, that's more arrogant than the Concept stores.

I was then very close to buying a Giant Propel SL with Dura Ace Di2, I had literally already loaded my bike to take to the shop for the build over... Well the wheels. Dave from Bruce's Westrand was super helpful in organizing a great deal and sourced the only full set of Dura Ace Di2 available. Definitely owe him a few Bells'

Then a fellow hubber offered me an opportunity to look at his Colnago C59, I fell in love with it and really wanted it, but it was not Di2 compatible and I want that option especially if you buy second hand.....

I couldn't shake the love for the Colnago so bit the bullet and ordered a Colnago C60 with Campy Super Record.

To say I slept lastnight would be a lie! Only 20 more sleeps to go :)

One thing I learnt while looking for bikes. Hubber are cool! Met a few along the way and are super helpful and patient!

Another... Our stock levels in this country sucks balls!! Almost nothing I wanted was available! How can Shimano not have a set of Dura Ace Di2 lever available anywhere in the country?

The last and most worrying is that it seems a consumer wth a bit of time and Google can end up knowing more about the desired products than the supposed product retailers.

When you need to tell a guy selling a R100k Cannondale that there are two different models (Di2 compatible and mechanical) because he said it's cool to run the electronic cables on the outside of the down tube, you end up asking yourself why not just order online.... Lack of knowledge is going to end retail as we know it!

Very nice, hope you get to enjoy many, many, happy miles - and don't lose too much sleep.

I got the news that my frame arrived at the distributor on Wednesday. Today I drop all the components off at the bike shop - what was originally an upgrade on my existing bike has turned into a whole new bike. Couldn't wait to load the parts into my car last night.

I just hope my 3 weeks doesn't turn into a wait like yours!

For me it wasn't a problem with waiting - I knew it was 3 months when I ordered and an extra month wasn't going to make a difference. No point stressing about something I have no control over.

Don't start... :)

No, next move will be to organize my current Tarmac a well earned respray (hopefully a Bogus One) After more than 16 000km it's well deserved.
