HR differs to each Person, especially the resting heart rate and the max hart rate.

Be carefull to compare yourself to adults. You are still a kid and the younger you are the higher will your heart rate be.

I think a doctor would be able to give you more valuable Information on this Topic. It is however good to know what your heart does and does not do.

At the end of the day the resting HR is not what counts as a cyclist, it is your ability for your heart to recover that is important.

Hi all, I want to know all ur guys or gals heart rate. I want to know what is a Normal persons average heart rate and a intremidiat. I'm 14 and my heart rate is 85 beats per/min. This would help me. Thanks all

Thats normal for a 14 y/o - it's very difficult to take an accurate resting measure unless you have a heart rate monitor or ecg  - you have to be at complete rest for at least 5 - 10 minutes - prefferably longer.

Mine is normally around 75 when I do check. But this is always when I have been busy doing work etc and been sitting down for about 10min

That's pretty normal - especially if you have any kind of stress like in a working day.

I have worn a 3 lead ecg during surgery - the anaethestist was concerned about the 140 odd at near rest... till we put the leads on him before he intubated a patient.... then he shut up... needless to say we don't do that any more.

Ok thanks guys I'm going to try to bring my heart rate down

It's not a relevant measure of anything at your age - don't waste your time trying to reduce it - it won't change your athletic performance at all.

The only relevant measure is how much work you can sustain and for how long - focus on driving that up, and ignore your HR.

When you are fully grown and an elite athlete, then you can worry about your HR at specific measured outputs again.

So you operate on your patients at a good steady Zone 3.

Before I empty my bladder its 55

Afterwards its 49 if I relax horizontally

then I drink coffee and it goes berserk

Have a cigarette and calm down and see what happens... :) ok - I will tell you - it goes up, as does your blood pressure...

Seen everything from 80 - 190... pretty meaningless really, unless I was having chest pains... which I am not.

Kind of depends more on what's going on at any specific point - doesn't worry me in the slightest.

ECG test done beginning of the month (part of my annual "check up and lube") and it was 52bpm. Dr was quite impressed with that, and then even more when he looked at my file and saw my age (50 years young :whistling: ) Must admit it was early morning (fasting state as my cholestrol and everything else was also tested) so I did not have time for life to work me up yet.

I can take my HR up to the high 180's without a problem, and can keep it there for some time. Did a Mtb race earlier this year where my avg HR was 172 bpm.

So yes, it does differ from person to person.

You get used to what is "normal" for you, and don't stress over it.
