Zatek Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 What chamois do you recommend for riding with tubbies? Went for my 1st ride and sitbones are sore. I have a 22mm gatorskin at the back. Thinking of changing it to a 25mm.

Thinking of changing it to a 25mm.I had the opposite. Tubbies felt alot less harsh than clinchers. Maybe the propel is a bit more responsive and feels the road more?
B20 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I ride with tubbies and have a solid carbon saddle. Sit bones are fine, but tollie goes numb for a few hours . However this is on the 4 hour rides .

I ride mine at 10 and feel good. 22mm is a little rough too - I have opted for 25mm for the wider tyre and more give under bumps (apparently more aero too). I weigh 89Kg. I use Vermarc bibs for most of my rides but that being said, I normally only use my tubbies for races - broom wagon is not always available on demand.

Not always I sometimes train with them, but I am very lucky and have an incredible missus.She's always on standby for me. Sometimes she follows me with the SUV on the road bike.She often washes my MTB after a muddy race.When I get out the shower, the thorns have been removed and bike is squeaky clean. In fact she even cleans the gas braai after a braai .
