Specialized Epic, made it to Riversdale - Only

Recommended Posts

I think that everyone at the Epic saw that bike! Not the best advert for Specialized - BUT spoke to a guy transporting the bike and he said that the owner has a habit of doing this and has been through 3 frames so far (He is 120kg's and quite powerful). At least he had the forsight to take a second bike with him!

I would think that he should rather ride a stumpjumper than an Epic at 120KG........ Just found out his reserve bike is indeed a stumpy which he used to complete the epic.Goldmember2008-04-07 12:31:14

He has been advised by the Specialized guys NOT to ride the Epic frame because of his size and weight (its made for racing) and rather ride a stumpjumper.  If you don't want to listen then its just your tough luck.

hmmmm, everytime i see these picture the rider gets heavier and heavier.

I was in the vacinity when it broke. Yes he is a rather large chappie but I think he siad he weighs 98Kg.

Still that bike should not break where it did. Looked like defective welding and his weight certainly showed up the bad welding.

The seat mast was held on with duct tape and two pumps strapped to the side. He was so annoyed that they were giving to horns to get home they came flying straight past us after they effected the repair. Kudos' to them for a great fix it job.

this picture will soon be posted as often as the trail session on those misty cliffs.

Or the one with the bike in the tent and girl outside.
