Morewood Chopper/Cruiser pimpin

So I managed to get my hands on this very special one-off Morewood over a year ago.  She rides like a dream.

Some of her parts:

-Manitou Travis DH fork

- SRAM 5.0 RD

- blackspire cranks

- Magura Gustav brakes

- Electra Fatti-O 24x3 rear tyre (Combat rim)

- Electra The Hotster 26" front tyre

And now it's time to give her some blingy TLC.

I know lil about bikes, even less about customs, so would love any insights & ideas on ways to sort her out nicely (without breaking the bank)!

Some basic ideas:

- remove most of the decals

- go with some champagne gold and/or anodised red bits

  def: pedals, grips, rotor

  maybe: chain, rims, chainring, spokes

- find a funkier seat

Bit more work:

- Currently a 1 x 9.   Go SS. What trick bits could I look for here?

- Has a Manitou DH fork. But for a more full-on chopper look, where would I look for a more radical fork? Although probably wouldn't fit the frame? (without serious mods).

Whatever else you suggest!

Looking forward to some  :nuke:

Siiíiiiiick!

Where did you pick it up from, definitely a once off?

How does it ride?

Hit the trails with this thing!

Rides absolutely beautifully.. Feel super chilled on it.  Yet it's practical too - fork can soak up some heavy hits, and have some gears to play with (to stay in chilled mode)

By a strange quirk of fate I'd met one of the builders at Morewood, Russell Norman (after buying a hulk of a vietnamese potbellied pig from him) once upon a time. He'd told me about this mystical bike.  I believe he'd built the bike with Patrick's blessing.  Then had sold it when he needed some lucre.  A year later it popped up on gumtree. Didn't take me long to nab her.  Last I heard, Russell was a pastor.  So she shall safely remain a one-off. Can it get any stranger?

Yes it can.. he said it's got this black magic paintjob.  And talking of strange, I'm feeling VooDoo.  anyone have any ideas around that kinda pimpin scheme?!

Leather saddle with matching leather grips with tassels. ........seriously!

Tassles?!  Oh hell no.. but in keeping with the voodoo theme (see my reply to Skylark), maybe I should repurpose a pair of voodoo dolls as grips (their hair can be the tassles :P)  These would need to be virgin dolls of course.. ones wiv pins in them can't be very comfy

It's amazing. Leave the paint job, add some bling, change the grips but please no tassels!

Ooh but Voodoo is sexy. Yes go for Voodoo

Definitely strip most the decals.... maybe chrome the frame and the bottom part of the forks?

Frame's got what's called a black magic paintjob - you can't see it very well in these pics.  Mostly cos I didn't want you to - cos these are the BEFORE pics.  Going to save the hi res pics (in bright light) for the AFTER pics.  :P

So going to leave it as is. Maybe gold plate the fork oneday? Any idea where?

Get rid of those bars & brake lever :cursing: quick before they lay eggs!!!

See if you can find a better looking crank floating around aswell.

Haha. Handlebar? Actually think it rocks.

Had named one of our dogs Gustav before even knowing this was called the same so that'll stay on longer :)

Yeh Def need a sexier crankset too
