'Dale Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 The final stage was always gonna be one CAT 1 too far for Dumelang He surely made his mark and animated the VueltaWasn't even intended to shine but to be a support for Degenkolb for stage wins Remarkable!
Cippo Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I think the whole cycling world is (besides astana of course)Tom kept on mentioning Wiggins as an inspiration. Spot the mistake.

tombeej Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Folks can loathe the blue train, but that was textbook racing today from a very strong & unified team being directed from the car by one of the most experienced old sports directors in the game who knows how to win (has won multiple grand tours with multiple riders). They had a very good plan and executed it to perfection. Grudging respect for the way they won the Vuelta today. The young and inexperienced (in grand tour GC tactics anyway) Giant Alpecin were properly schooled today. Poor Big Tom stood no chance considering.

Ja shame, I feel for poor Tommy D, but we all knew that Astana has the tactic nous to take the red jersey away from him. They raced the plan to perfection and that is why Aru will celebrate tonight. Great racing and a great tour! And a top 10 for the Maincheese, well done boytjie, you sure made us proud!
'Dale Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Meintjies1st ever top 10 GC for a South African in a Grand Tour
