I KNOW I WILL NEED TO RUN FOR COVER for this one,,,,,,,,,say they were not calling us pests, they "should" statistically know what WE as cyclists know, WE RIDE LIKE PLANKS there are more than enough threads and cycle clubs slated to confirm this(many ride like planks)we have all been on club rides please dont start the NOT ME,,,,YOU KNOW SOMEONE,, IF ITS NOT YOU, since they do this for a living I ASSume they have more  figures and facts than we do, we only hear of the high profile accidents and when a hubber falls( very small % of the stats I can only ASSume they have access to)

what about the commuters being run over on a regular basis that doesn't even get reported in the media?

poor okes just trying to get to work and make a living?

i think the statistics will fall in favour of the cyclists.

I agree however that cyclists are not angels and as you put it some ride like PLANKS, their "statistics" may just be skewed.

who said anything about entitlement?

if you want to pick a fight for the sake of fighting, pick another topic.

Cyclists are being killed on the roads (yes there are some who do things that are illegal, and I will take them on as well) and you seem to support the view that only motorised vehicles are entitled to use the road.

So answer this, you are on a cycling forum so I assume you cycle, since you agree with her you clearly don't use any public roads, are you then limited to the spinning class at your local gym?

I think she's a ******* moron. I don't need to attack her body to call that out though.

Not here to fight, just pointing out your going to make a far better point through a reasoned argument than a personal attack. If you're on FB send her a message that points out the road is for cyclists too and her point of view is dangerous, rather than resorting to childish insults about her.

How can any collision investigation involving a cyclist conducted by their company possibly be objective considering their statements on facebook?

If their personal opinion on cyclists has any effect on the way they conduct their investigations. Then the way they reconstruct scenes based on these assumptions would contribute largely towards possibly inaccurate statistics.

AGREED, as said above I to would hate to be involved in an accident if they are pre judging

possibly, but then you put more context to it - here is big stan this morning on his wife/partners original post (ok that's enough stalking for me for today)

Stan Bezuidenhout Brett. Everything you say is true. Those things happen. And I can answer: every cyclist hurt and killed, in cases we investigated, happened on public roads. Places where (sometimes irresponsible, often incapable) people operate vehicles of between one and one hundred tons at speeds of between 40 and 120 or even 200 Km/h. Then, in spite of this, cyclist ride abreast in bunches (illegal) on national roads (illegal), with no reflectors (illegal) and even at night without lights (illegal). Then they display aggression, road rage and belligerence as well. They assault people and hold up traffic on roads almost too narrow for cars and have the audacity to enjoy it and even brag about it. So, considering who is most or more likely to die in a cyclist-vehicle interaction, I'd say they are, by design, the bigger problem. Here is a good example of why we "hate" cyclists...

And another one who does not know the difference between a national road and a highway.  The stupidness is strong in this one.

Sad but true.

I'm kind of relieved in a way that me and these marvelous folk aren't on the same wave length... It's a pity we have to share the roads with them, but that's not something we didn't already know!

PS: Picture them in lycra if you need a laugh :whistling:

Being married by the Hoff is a big deal in Springs.

I noticed.  But I did notice they share something from "Stop White Genocide in South Africa". If I am a white cyclist, do I score BEE points now?
