As much as I love animals, if a loose dog chases me and attempts to bite me I will hoof that thing good and proper.

Keep the dog on a leash so we can all enjoy the space together.

So If it's clockwise only...when i go for a run there i won't be able to run up the hill in amongst the trees on the right hand side of the park?..that would suck

I think they are talking about cyclists.

Hey guys. I'm not sure about all the nitty gritty stuff but I have been to two meetings about this. Like most of you have said the aim is to keep park users out of each others way and to promote responsible use of the park by all the parties. We are working together with council and jhb parks. There is word of a trail builder ciming in to desighn/build it so it won't be a lame old trail. AFAIK Nothing is set in stone.

Im in two minds about dogs..on one hand I see the need to leash them...but dogs also need to run wild like we do...our local park is pretty much dog friendly - so unleashed dogs is standard practice....but thats beside the point....where is the biggest problem in Delta? the section at the bottom along the spruit? surely as a cyclist its easy to slow down and anticipate an unleashed dog - for sure if its an agressive dog then it should not be unleashed and would get a cleat to the chin from me...then again you cant have rules for some dog owners and not others...so its a tricky situation....[confused emoticon]

One day when I start training again, I will be doing that hill. Theres enough space for everyone there.

Riders cant even keep left on the trail, now you want to impose a route direction! I think people should just be more wary of one another. There are riders out there that think they own the route and can do as they please. Slow down for potential hazardous situations and be coutiious.

Old thread, I know.

I went around the greater Emmarentia park clock-wise today, and was told (luckily politely) "Going wrong way buddy". Not sure how this person knew I was going away from home at the end of my ride. Kudos to him though!
