My bike's making groaning noise when I peddle

Hi everyone, I need some advice please?

 

I've got a relatively new carbon 650 mountain bike with SRAM XO components. When I peddle there's a groaning noise on the right hand side when pushing down. I've never fallen with the bike and it's driving me crazy? Any advice on what it could be?

Most probably the BB. Take it to your LBS to have checked out. You don't want a grinding noise to be coming from a carbon bikes bottom bracket as it could lead.to pretty disastrous consequences

Neither of which are good.

 

If there are noises coming from your bike, it's a problem, get her to a Doc asap!

Not to hijack this thread but I have had the same problem for weeks now. Had the bike checked out and my LBS told me that the BB needs to be replaced however I just haven't had the time to do this. Does anyone know if any damage could be done if I continue riding like this? Thanks *hijack off* lol

Yes it's bad, listen to your bike shop, metal grinding on metal doesn't usually sort itself out.

My bike was making a lot of groaning today as well... turns out it was just the rider.
