Thanks to everyone that participated in the race.  We are sorry about the inconvenience caused to some because of seeding/batching.  This was the first time the new seeding system was used - generally speaking it was not too bad (although we realise it will be hard to convince those effected negatively).  More data (of which this race will provide input as well) will also continue to improve the seeding results.  We'll also attempt to source more results from other races - it was a tough decision but we're convinced this is the way to go for many different reasons.

We hope that many of you will have noticed the investment made in many of the other race components (safety, infrastructure, etc) and will continue to support the Satellite Classic in the future...we'll also be working with CSA to avoid another date clash with Amashova in 2016.

Finally, thanks to the entire team that worked long hours this past weekend - much appreciated!

Regards

As you can see - it was duly noticed. Best response to one of your races in a while. Now PLEASE have sachets of water and people handing them out accurately to the fast groups next week at Sondela. IT WILL BE HOT!!!

Oh can anyone tell me why you are not really allowed to register on the day? In cape town its pretty standard at all PPA races but yesterday was just out of back of a car...weird. they can fokoff im not driving 30mins to faraways and 30min home to register in the week. Besides the fact that i work.

After the organisation disaster 2 weeks ago (not a ASG race). The Satellite Classic was a absolute pleasure. Will definitely ride again next year. My seeding, AL, was spot on.

A friend of mine was seeded in F, he is a "A" rider, the seeding got sorted at registration in a few minutes, we both rode in A.

You find them in EVERY road event

Must say first time I have seen one, surely this should be spotted at the start? Or by the bike marshall? it really is dangerous in a bunch ride.

Agree to earlier comments about seeding. Was also in DL bunch. High pace all the way to Hekpoort...even thereafter with the remnants of the group. DL picked up CL,BL and a lot of AL long before Hekpoort. Somehow the seeding didnt work well.

Seeding seemed amiss when I received EL but I rode it to the end and according to the racetec site I took EL, so I'm pretty stoked, never did that before.

had an awesome ride, will definitely be back next year.

I had a superb race from B and we set a strong pace all the time. I was surprised that not one rider past me up hekpoort and when we hit the climb, there were only a few guys in front of me. And I battled up there.

After hekpoort we were storming home at quite a pace considering the wind. I thought we were the 2nd group from B, but it turned out that we actually were the first group since there was just 1 rider who finished in front of us.(according to racetec). I thought there were more riders in front of us.

Thanks for a well organised event. My only constructive criticism is with the lack of mobile toilets. There was a hell of a queue and probably a few more at different places - not just one- should have been better.

Thanks and kudos to all involved. will definitely see you next year.

Racetec have me as a DL starter, not EL, which immediately adds 5 min to my time. They are now on a double strike with me.

Same happened to my wife and two friends who also started in EL.

Were also originally seeded in EL but got reseeded to B. I actually asked the lady to be reseeded to CL, but there were no CL numbers left so I got into BL.

This worked out well and I ended up 6th in B, which is better than the first place in CL.

No Sachets causes accidents and littering miles on end. Rules are you must stop in a safe designated area.

Doesn't jumping a group leads to immediate DQ?

I was quite surprised when I saw a (one) CL rider at the front of BL. We were moving and for 1 oke to make up 5 min is quite a piece of work. When I saw him I thought it must have been a V-something rider who got the bad end of the seeding process.

When I saw 2 EL riders at the front of B, I knew they must have jump a group or 2. No ways that 2 guys make up 15 min on us on there own.

Now looking at the racetec results, no-one in C or E finished ahead of us, so they must have started in earlier groups. I thought this is a big no-no and leads to be DQ.
