Stricker Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 So im getting a new TCR and not sure what to go for. 2015 TCR( Ultegra one)2016 TCR ( 105 ) I have spoken to the bike shop and they are willing to give me a 2015 (ultegra) TCR with overdrive 2 etc ect ect at a very good price. What would you do?

Long Wheel Base Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Iv got the 2015 TCR(iv got the composite so not ISP) with Ultegra and it's amazing. But remember the 2016 model has changed. It's a different frame. Giant have gone climbing(TCR) and aero(propel) specific like so many others. The TCR used to be a bit of both but now it's climbing specific. Personally I really like the look of mine.If it's the new 11 speed 105 there really is nothing wrong with it, it's also a 4 arm spider crank like the new Ultegra. I haven't ridden it but people who have say it's just as smooth as Ultegra.

Mine as seen above is ultegra everything except brake calipers. They just branded as shimano but iv been told they the previous model ultegra but i'm not sure. Otherwise even my chain and cassette where ultegra.Also must add mine came with compact cranks(was still the new 6800 ultegra, just super short and small rings) and I changed that before leaving the shop.

Swop back to the standard Ultegra chain on my training wheels.

Brickleberry Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I have an older tcr SL ISP with ultegra and love it. But I think I would go with the new frame and 105 unless the older model is an SL frame then take that one.
