Some websites are listing the 2016 Camber Comp Carbon as $3800. That equates to about 3400 Euro. For that money (in Europe) you can get a Canyon Spectral CF 9.0 with the following spec:

FRAME CANYON SPECTRAL CF
REAR SHOCK CANE CREEK DBINLINE
FORK ROCKSHOX PIKE RCT3 SOLO AIR
HEADSET CANE CREEK 40
REAR DERAILLEUR SRAM X0 TYPE 2, 10S
DERAILLEUR HANGER SCHALTAUGE NR. 26
FRONT DERAILLEUR SRAM X0, 10S
CHAIN GUIDE CANYON E168
SHIFTERS SRAM X0, 10S
BRAKES SRAM GUIDE RS
CASSETTE SRAM FORCE, 10S
WHEELSET DT SWISS XM 1501 SPLINE
TYRES CONTINENTAL TRAIL KING PROTECTION 2.2
CRANKS SRAM X0, 10S
CHAINRINGS 24 | 38
CHAIN KMC X10-93
BOTTOM BRACKET SRAM GXP PRESSFIT
STEM CANYON V12
HANDLEBAR CANYON H15 RISE AL
GRIPS ERGON GE1
SADDLE ERGON SME30
SEAT POST ROCKSHOX REVERB STEALTH

Given, it doesn't have a 1X11 transmission, but my guess is that'll trump the Spez in all other respect.

Yeah, as much as I love the new stuff coming out lately, unless I have a millionaire grandfather I didn't know about previously, I don't realistically see myself owning a new bike soon.

The On One Codeine framesets are great value, but they can't run a bottlecage, which to me is a massive issue. Pity really, because R15.5k for a great frame and Monarch Plus or CCDB is brilliant and I would be able to rebuild all my existing parts on to it, but again, I need a bottlecage.  Hate packs.Other than that there aren't any viable frameset options in the market that I know of.  Spez did some last year and the Camber Carbon Evo frameset was a steal, but I am not sure they are making framesets available again this year (other than the Epic mentioned above it seems).

Anybody know of other decent 29'er trailbike frameset options.  130-140mm+ travel, 67-68deg. head angle (iow, don't say Pyga 110).

Spoke to the guy from FC two weeks ago. New 2016 S-Works Epic frame with RS1 (frame and fork only!) costs R81 000! Crazy!

Seems the Comp Carbon Camber (and all Stumpies below Expert level - which is R82k :cursing: ) still come 2x10.

Suddenly the Pyga Stage is looking very reasonable.

only issue I have is the lack of a rear remote lockout. only issue I have is the lack of a rear remote lockout.

Agreed, don't understand why they did that

Hi Nico,

the Comp Carbon is Sram 1x11 GX as standard

Ja takes a while to get used to the location, but I can change it in a race without hassle most of the time without looking down.

Camber Comp Carbon price =

$3,800 (same as 2014) = ZAR48,900 + 14% VAT = ZAR55,750

.

The price of the camber comp carbon has NOT changed, as far as I can see.

.

You can thank our politicians for the rand devaluation / price increase (=ZAR15k in 24mo).

Ja fair enough.

But I don't want this to become a Spez debate, because frankly bikes in general have just become retardedly expensive.  Even for people living in Dollarland.

That is crazy. I would never even think about that, when there is a S- Works Stumpjumper fsr in the classifieds for R45k. Absolutely mint condition.

An s-works is like a jeep/bmw/French car. It's awesome to have and great to ride until it goes out of service plan... And an s-works (especially a 2nd hand one) never had a service plan to start with. A friend paid R15k for a service on one of these flashy steeds once.

That is such bollocks. I have a S-works Stumpy. Its not a car, it doesnt come with a service plan. It cost me R300 to service. Just like my girlfriends normal Epic.

And really, a Jeep/ French car, awsome to have. . Not for me, ever.

I am in the same boat - looking for a new bike - first real full susser.

Why not the Pyga?
