The route consists almost exclusively of flat grondpad. Difficult, very. The route consists almost exclusively of sandy grondpad and sinkplaat grondpad. It is horrible to ride on, dusty and usually very hot. It is also mind numbingly boring. If you can finish it with your sense of humour intact you have done well. I'll be doing my 7th or 8th one.

I'll just take it easy " Yea right ....What is it with cyclists ? Are we secretly a bunch of masochists ? And this year we can really enjoy ourselves with a 115 on Sat and then for dessert an 80 on Sun ! Eish !!

If you can finish it with your sense of humour intact you have done well. I'll be doing my 7th or 8th one. You have to smile the entire way so that your teeth don't chip.

Sounds a lot like the Clotan Steel 70km I did last weekend, so there must be something that take's you back every year, is scenery okay?

It just is not possible for it to be as hot as what it was in 2013.I think you're right about last year being in Sept . But before that it used to be in Oct ( I hope ) , because it was blerrie hot .
