creaking front suspension

I've got what sounds like the exact same problem with my 32 120mm Fox Float CTD F.I.T fork. Currently with Omnico in CT. Reported the issue 2months ago, was told they needed spares. Took fork to LBS two weeks ago. Nothing back yet so can't comment on fix. A huge thanks though to Specialized Cedar Square who have lent me a bike while my fork is fixed.

I've been told it's the CSU (crown steerer unit) but I don't believe it. Reason is it only starts creaking 30-45 min into ride. This to me says that while the bike is sitting, oil is lubricates something then as I ride, oil is splashing around and something in the fork leg is not getting lubricated anymore, gets dry and starts to creak. But hay, what do I know. It's under warranty and they must fix it.

Yes mine exactly that with omnico at the moment promised to have it back next week i feel they should replace the shock the tolerance in the shock is not right. When the shock heats up it starts to pinch somewhere! That my opinion.

Riding will splash oil around inside the fork and this IMPROVES internal lubrication.

Slight temperature change during a ride would cause expansion / contraction and more likely to highlight issues with pressed parts. There has been some prior history with Fox and CSUs.

I had the same issue on my Fox I sent it to Omnico It is the fit between the stanchions and the crown but my fork is out of warranty so Omnico would have charged R3500 to fix the issue.

I didnt feel this was a worthwhile repair so they sent the fork back. I did as much research as I could on the issue and the one solution that I found was to clean the fork as best as you can specifically focusing on the area where the stanchions are pressed into the crown.

Leave the bike standing upright for a few days to ensure the fork is 100% dry. Turn the bike upside down (it is best to take fork off and use a work stand to ensure the fork is 100% vertical) and put loctite (the blue one, non permanent) where the stanchions are pressed into the crown leave the fork upside down for 3-4days to allow the loctite to flow into the gaps.

I did this and the clicking/creaking sounds are gone.

Interesting thread. I have the same issue with my 120 Fox fork. Also 5 months old. LBS said not first problem they had. I suspect it was a bad batch. Fox have agreed to replace I believe.

The other possibility is that the seals are not lubricated enough, so when the rubber gets hotter, is starts creaking. Had this with my first pogo-stick.

Try standing the bike upside down overnight, so the seals get lubricated a little?

Please help my front suspension makes a terrible creaking noise after 30 min of trail riding! but not on smooth surface! if i pick the bike up and turn the handlebar its quite! if put wait on it creaks if i push down slightly it creaks lbs dont know took it out and sent it to fox (fox 32 ctd 120) but they made me feel like an idiot because it does not make that creaking noise once it has cooled down!

If your fork is still under warranty, send it to Fox, they will replace the stanchions.

You are tell the OP to send it to Fox, but he did that?
