I heard they are expanding their 29" range again NEEEEXT year...so hold on!

No they're not expanding their 29 range next year. Only countries still asking for 29 is Australia south Africa and the USA.

Only the USA may swing the idea but already there's plenty of manufacturers moving to 650b for their xs, s and m size bikes in xc/marathon ranges. Those sizes are far more popular than l or xl.

Even for 2016 dragon sports had to beg for some Lee way to enable then to offer options for the anthem in 29ER.

Play with gearing tables that correct for wheel size and you'll see how corrected 650b gearing offers the same low range as a 29er while being slightly taller in gearing at the high end.

What does a 2014 (NOS) or a 2015 anthem 650b sell for?

Got this from the web. Have no idea who they are, or where they are. Don't even know if it is fairly priced...

All I know is I really really want the Advanced 29 or even just the SX...

Not asking for much [emoji22]

Ps.. See the link is not coming out correct. The guys are called Cyclesphere. Somewhere is a link for a pricelist

MarickH, my 2c worth.

Ive spent time on both the 29er and the 27.5. I am 1.85m tall and I like the longer races and stage races. So I am an ideaal big wheel candidate. Yet I prefer the 27.5.

I prefer the mid wheel Anthem, because it is a more fun bike to ride. It's nippier, easier to manual and move around underneath you, a lot easier to get into the air and overall just better in technical trail situations. The big wheels do roll a bit faster though.

But I'll rather ride a bike that is more fun and suited to 80% of my riding I'm doing, than choosing a bike for the 20% (that is if racing is as much as 20%) of my riding times.

Hoorah!

I bought a 2014 Anthem 1 (27.5) yesterday. Took it for a quick ride on our local track and it was amazing! I am so happy.

After a long discussion with the salesman, I eventually settled on 27.5 and I am very happy with my decision.

This is an AMAZING bike!

MarickH, according to hub tradition you need to post a photo of the bike on your couch. Don't ask why, it is just one if those things.

I trust you will enjoy the new bike. Many happy and safe miles on it.

why do you say the big wheels roll a little faster? In what situation do they show this?

I ask because I have yet to find a situation where the bigger wheels are faster. Maybe more comfortable yes but faster....?

why do you

On flat gravel roads. On tar roads. On tar downhills.

Technically they roll at the speed they are being pedalled at, so saying they roll faster is technically wrong.

They keep momentum better. And at the end you will be able to keep a higher velocity. (You'll achieve the same by pedalling a higher gear on the smaller wheels.)

But saying they roll faster makes more sense to a layman.
