KTM Bike Industries - Happy ending

Good day all

I am new to Bikehub and fairly new to mtb. I work abroad and only get to enjoy my bike in my rotation break when I am at home.

Last year I bought my KTM Scarp Prime from Cycle Lab Tygervalley branch, I got my bike a couple of days before flying out and did not have a lot of time to even ride it. Months past and on my return I got to ride three local trails, took my bike back for a couple of wash and lubes and all was good. I was happy with my purchase. I requested an owners manual for my bike and upon returning home again I saw that the shop have closed doors.

Beginning of this year I emailed KTM Bike Industries and enquired about my owners manual. Hans De Ridder replied and told me he would see what he can get. As it goes I was still abroad and time flies, on my return earlier this year I followed up again and the next day I received all info for the various parts on my bike. Two months later I decide to open the spec sheet and I realised to my amusement that I do not have said rims/wheel set on my bike. I had a set of entry level Mavic rims instead of DT Swiss.

I contacted Hans again via email and within an hour he organised to have a brand new complete wheel set delivered to my address the following day. This was one and a half year later and about 300 km on my clock. Hans could have said "not my monkey, not my zoo", but instead he stepped up to the plate and claimed responsibility for his product although to no fault on their side.

This is excellent customer service and I feel also a big up to HANS DE RIDDER at KTM Bike Industries.

Well done and thanks again.

Welcome

You wouldn't know this, I could be wrong, but I think you the first 1 post newbie to come here and post positively about an issue you had resolved at a bike shop, NICE ONE

Normally post 1 is to slate the bike shop and they run

Thanks DIPSLICK, you know the saying:" when someone is happy they tell maybe three people, but when unhappy you tell as many as you can". There is a lot of positive in the mtb community, I guess we just don't know about it.

Sharing is caring.

Great stuff from Hans the Rider. Do you really think that's his name, or the folks over there actually have a great sense of humour in customer services?

Thats the type of service one wants to hear about. Most bicycles cost same as a small car and one would really like some assurance that the guys stand behind the product your sleeping on couch for/with. Glad to hear KTM is one of those!

KTM rock - My missus just bought a Bike from them, service was great, friendly and efficient. Had several KTM mx bikes over the years and now enjoy their cycling products. Will always support the brand.

I hope my wife never finds out what I've spent on Orange!! Don't think I've ever walked out a KTM shop empty handed. Damn, even when I take a bike for a service I see STUFF!!!
