Im in Jhn till the 12th and would have entered if I knew this was on.

Do late entries still get seeded ? I read the old threads and see the past years seedings were a mess... problem solved yet ?

Yes late entries that are done on the 8th and 9th will be seeded. I emailed the organizer yesterday.

great thanks, will be there early on the 8th.

so what kinda times are you guys aiming for  if you get a good result?

depends on conditions I guess. sub 3 would be nice. LAst year I did a 3:08 but lost a few minutes with a puncture.

Starting CL but that said I don't really do much road riding - last was Dischem R4S which I did a 3:30ish with suffering 2 punctures.

Was wondering what to expect with this race...

Also starting CL.  Have never bunch ridden in a race.  I'm a runner so tend to go off at my own pace and try to hold on but end up riding most of the time alone so very inefficient.  My objective this time is to hold on to the bunch and go 5 or 10km out if I still have the legs.  What kind of pace could I expect from the bunch in CL?  (my easy weekend group rides tend to average 26-27km/hr or so hoping not too much faster?)

I generally can hold 30-32kmh average on my own around the flat east... we can only hope to hang onto the fastest group we can hang onto...

I got a braai and beer @ 12pm so I need to move as quickly as possible

CL last year had an average of around 35km/h. Not sure where your group ride but in the bunch on that route with lil climb 35 is not a huge push. Just go with the flow for as long as you can and see where it leads :)

Last year the bunch was easy to hang with (which is a problem due to the size of the bunches) up to walkerville hill then starting thinning out a tad

Thanks, sounds ambitious but true, my usual ride has a reasonable amount of climbing (1100m or so in 92km) and to say I am cruising is an understatement  .    Can always drop back to DL if needed I guess
