Great race. Nice and tough. Johan really has done a great job on those trails.

So provisional results are out. Many G and H batch in under 3:30. I know of 3 who I saw cut across at the top of the mountain before going over and joining again at the top of the long climb. They did not DNF but are on the "scoresheet". Their history times are a give away. I have their numbers.

What is the consensus on reporting these people? So not cool. The woman even came past on the last portion of that long climb shouting at us to keep left as she sped past. (Pity she didn't climb the whole bloody thing)

Not sure how to go about reporting but it drives me nuts as well. I mean a guy from C batch 9th overall ........ pull the other one mate

Also saw guys going straight at the two wooden bridges over the fence, in other words cutting out the that whole loop and then as I said earlier on the other side of the mountain also cutting out a loop

I was in C batch and there was a lot of bottlenecks at certain sections of the trail. I cannot imagine what those bottlenecks looked like further down the field. Iooking at the times in the lower batches is quite entertaining....

Did the half, managed a 1:35:14, enjoyed it,not technical, and with the heat i'm glad girotech climb was cut-out. Saw a B-batch rider fall of the first fenced bridge, seemed ok, think most suffered from heatstroke. Open up those rehydrat, good for recovery.

I was also in C. Look .... I will be the first to admit that I did not have a good day and the route got the better of me and is far beyond my skills levels but the race shoud still be fair

As someone who finished the hard way I say report the cheating bastards! I mean, why the hell enter if you cannot even complete it legally!

Also saw some riders appearing out of nowhere but i dont have their numbers.

Half Marathon had an L batch guy finish 4th overall!!! Highly unlikely. Have you seen those juniors from A batch go? If you look at his history it speaks volumes.

Tough day out in the saddle today. I gotta say, overall I didn't enjoy it that much.

Shortened route bugged me a bit, because I was conserving energy throughout the race, not pushing when I didn't have to in anticipation of the full distance, suddenly you come around a bend and there's huge Nissan pylon. Was a bit disappointing to be honest.

The walking, oh the walking. That's on me for starting in F I guess, but c'mon guys, try. I totally agree that some areas were unridable. Huge bottlenecks in the beginning of the race, luckily the field thinned out the further we got, but even the final big climb guys were just walking in the middle of the road, not paying attention to their bikes wandering all over the show. Almost got taken out a couple of times. Guess I should make use of "TRACK!" more often, but I'm not here to be an arse about it, everyone suffered, but just pay a bit of attention when people are behind you. Don't just stop with no warning.

The cutting. It was unbelievable how many guys decided, screw it, and found a shorter route home. This was my first (not quite full now) marathon and it was tough, I get it. I suffered, the person in front of me suffered, the person behind me suffered. Not cool guys!

Gotta add in some positives though!

Waterpoints were frequent and well stocked when I got through there, ice cold water was just fantastic!

The track itself also, what a route, holy hell. Reaching the summits gave you breathtaking views over Gauteng and North West, but not without punishment! I really enjoyed the course. Was a tale of four stories, pushing, fast and flat farm sections (man the miles flew past quickly, and you two bastards who sat in my slipstream when the wind picked up the whole damn time with no attempt to pay back the favour, screw you), climbing, climbing and more climbing, and bone shaking descents. Was a good technical experience for me, it's quite a tough one this!

I dunno. I feel a bit mixed about the event. I'm hurting right now, but I'm not too pleased with what I've achieved. Was a great day out none the less! Oh, 4h4m for me, not really proud of that  (Not quite sure how accurate that is though, I missed about 2km due to my Garmin switching off, but was at 3h47m. Edit: Nevermind, Garmin measures moving time)

Interesting to read some of the feedback here. I didn't do this race (don't race marathons) but I do love riding at Hakahana.

You guys should join us at the next #enduro race /event the last weekend in November at Hakahana. It is awesome really. It will get all your confidence up on the downs and obviously test your fitness again on the ups.

Way less riders on the trails (as we start one by one in 30seconds intervals) so there's no stress about walkers in your way. The crowd is also very jolly (goid banter included for sure) during and after the event.

Please keep an eye on the Hakahana website or facebook page for the details... This one coming is going to be the last for the year and it is going to be spectacular!

Hayley we did a section today marked SP3 is this one of the segments in the Enduro? And if so which stage was at on the last Enduro event?

As far as I know you guys just did a part of it, maily down a road, you bypassed the part with the little road gap etc.

Nope no road until the sign that said End of SP3 and we turned left just before that.

According to Strava, which isn't really definitive, we rode the whole SP3 segment.

That's what I thought but I think we turned about turned about 10 m from the end of it. Does Strava give an idea of the top times by any chance? I'm trying to calculate whether I can take Hayley up om her challenge for the next Enduro event.

See you already don't fit the enduro crowd... If it is all about strava and time... You are missing the point of enduro and maybe better suited at XC.

So did you guys ride a wooden jump? Or pass one on that sp3 trail then?
