I've shown over the 2016 season to date that "I am in great shape and I look forward to going to Rio to represent my country and hopefully we as a team come back with a medal from the road race.”

Cummings, exiting le Tour after replacing the out-of-form Kennaugh in the British Olympic team

I haven't seen anything about him leaving TDF...

Track requires a different preparation. Whereas all this climbing left is great for Cummings prep for the RIO road race course.

CAV left the TDF in 2012 to prepare for the London games.. the course then was basically flat as a pancake..if I recall there was 1 little climb.

Jip - understand Cav is leaving now, and his reasons, and also that the rest of TDF is prefect prep for Cummings.

The post from Puncheur however says:

"Cummings, exiting le Tour after replacing the out-of-form Kennaugh in the British Olympic team"

Hence my comment / question. I don't see any other reports that Stevo is leaving.

There's the race for yellow which is for the Froome Dawg to lose

However, I'm intrugued in the fight for podium

That'll be quite a contest too

He should now forfeit his TDF stage wins this year

Mario Cipollini was even worse. I don't think he climbed a mountain once in his career!

Workshy Sprinters eh?

Stage 17

Roughly ten minutes until the start of stage 17 and the majority of the peloton have signed on and made their way to the start line.

Robert Millar:

The least unpleasant of the final Alpine stages. Good roads, beautiful scenery and fairly uneventful until the descent into Aigle for a quick wave to UCI headquarters. Then it’s fasten your seatbelts for the blast along the valley and from Martigny on it’s every man for himself. The Col de la Forclaz is unrelenting and it’s windy so the decisions could well be made even before the haul up to Finhaut. The perfect terrain for Quintana versus Froome.

Look out for Sagz's newest skeet on Gladiator ????
