Geraint Thomas explained how he gave Froome his bike after the race leader crashed.

"All of a sudden he’s on the floor and going ‘I need a bike, I need a bike,’ so I gave him mine. Then I waited for the team car although they did drive passed me."

 

"I wasn’t going to run to the finish but luckily they stopped a few hundred meters laters and I got on this, and that was that."

BTW, NQ had a face on that finish that said "WTF", and Adam Yates is starting to feel the tour in his legs.  Pity tomorrow does not finish on a mountaintop. That descent tomorrow will bring chaos as teams go all out on attack.

Cancellara was long dropped, also one of his two team mates he had, over cooked it and went off the road. 

 

TBH, he could not even hold then wheel of those who were dropped ahead of him.
