Hi Gerald

Where does the index currently end for A batch seeding? I usually enter in VA but have been racing A batch with my team. Entered this race as open seeded otherwise I would have entered the longer distance as VA.

Thanks

The best 120, plus another 30 (late entries and the guys that chose to have their numbers couriered).

AL is limited to 150 riders as they start among the licensed bunches.

Edit: I know that doesn't answer your question (what index value?).

Edit again: currently at 21.44

Gerald, firstly I must say that this info and insight is super cool!!

Thanks for engaging with us.

A question from me: how big is the VA bunch atm?

Last year we where a decent size. Not sure if you raced VA last year but we almost caught the elites. In fact I think our breakaway passed them?(Gerald and a few others can confirm) but i also think elite did even further so that may have been why we caught them.

Never done this race. Am however looking forward to it.

So far it seems like the "fans favourite" ????

ATM, VA has 50

I know of a few guys that haven't entered, so there could be another 5-8 added.

The break caught and passed the Elite convoy and then things returned to normality soon after.

The break at the finish also had to negotiate a car that found it's way into the finish line chute and then stalled trying to reverse out.

Note to self: If I have a terrible Ride 4 Sight tomorrow, I will use the seeding run I completed today, for next week's event, as the reason.

Every entry received by 19:00 this evening has had their results allocated to their name - now to wait for the online entries to close, update the last few entries and then refresh the formulae.

Then it's up to the race office to get this information to you.

I have entered and paid but will be doing the Fatattack.co.za. Any Hubber that will do the substitution can have the entry. I am very sad to miss this one. Number will be couriered to PTA.

That sucks!

But the ride up the coastline looks like fun. Did I read right that it's almost R5k to hire the bike for the weekend?

Edit: Did you opt for the courier delivery? Race numbers have already been allocated ready for despatch early next week

Yes, courier. Technically it is for bike, transport and bearing service - those bikes will take a beating on the beach and through rivers. Mine will be tucked away safely at home.

Done. Maybe ask Gerald nicely to not courier or even courier to the new rider....? (slinking away)

I can ask them not to send out the delivery, but any substitution needs to be done at number collection to change rider details and also to get the new rider to sign the indemnity.

Talus, it's up to you - please PM your name and I'll ask the race office to hold it back

Hopefully I will be doing this one next year again. Last year I did the Bielie Mielie race in Reitz, this year I did the Dischem Ride for Sight. All these favourite, well organised races are just too close to each other to do all of them in a single month. My wallet will never survive!
