Patchelicious Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Hi, I currently run Super Record 11s 53/39 - 27/11 on my bike. I am wanting to explore higher ratios for some climbs in a future trip. Buying a compact SR crank is very pricey just for one trip. So the question is, is there a 32/12 cassette available? This seems to give you a very similar ration to 50/34?Would you need a new rear DR too?
Rudi33 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Not currently but could be coming soon. I can't speak for Campy but I went compact with 12/30 on my Dura Ace 7900 and never enjoyed cycling more.Most RD's do shift into a 32. my 7900RD does... Check out some cool vids on why compact.. cheers

If my memory seves me correct the new Ultra Torque cranks can run standard and compact cranks. Maybe you should look into this as all you have to do is get a new rings. RegardsCippo P. S. Campy's biggest ratio is 12-29 which uses same first 5 cogs as 12-27. I am not sure if you could just buy the last 6 cogset seperately.
