So has anyone done this upgrade yet?

Which damper did you  get installed. Is it the Factory Series or Performance Series?

Did one last week.

Upgraded an Evolution damper to the FIT4 Factory (with Trail adjust) damper.

It is a completely different fork now!

The evolution was pretty k@k to start with so not really comparable.

The FIT4 performs much better than even the FIT3!!

The settings between the different modes are much more definite!

Absolutely worth the upgrade!!

This sounds like the way to go...

Cost? and how long did it take?

Upgraded the damper, replaced seals + dustwipers and foamring, also needed the remote lockout assembly kit.

The older lockout kits are not compatible with the newand the updrade has trail adjust.

Including labour and all above it came to around R4700.

I got the go-ahead from the client on Monday, received the parts on Tuesday and had the fork back on his bike by Wednesday.

If you let me know in advance, I can get it done in 24hrs. Otherwise my normal turnaround time is 2 to 3 days.

That sounds pretty awesome. I like the idea of the remote lockout and trail adjust. This might just be my krismis present to myself

The trail adjust is now in the open mode, not in trail mode anymore as on ctd. So makes more sense as well in downhill mode.

On the 2013 and 2014 Factory dampers the Trail adjustment dial is removed when you fit a remote. You have to pre select the trail adjust setting before fitting the remote and can only change it by removing the remote, adjusting and refitting remote.

Not sure if this is also true for the new FIT4 damper/remote combo....maybe the gurus can advise.

For those wanting both remote and the adjustable Factory damper just check before you commit your $$$.

Here is the before and after an a Factory FIT4 where I converted it to remote.

The trail adjust is still available and usable on the Factory version.

Trail adjust is not available on the Performance FIT4

So dont worry about compatibility, simply choose whether you want trail adjust or not with the FIT4 damper.

Your remote interface (the blue knob on the fork itself) from a FIT3 or anything older is not compatible with the FIT4 anyway, so you are going to have to order the new remote interface.

The remote lever on your handle bar remains good to go!
