I've entered. and will support a boycott, if all other entrants do exactly the same.  Will help bugger-all of the boycott is half assed.

 

Such a united front should certainly wake them up - but then we actually make the assumption the care about cycling.

 

Perhaps another thread heading will help draw the attention?

Was it 2 years ago that with a week to go it was just a big of a stuff up and then just like that it was cancelled?

Such a pity because although I know i'm going to suffer I actually would really like to race.

Boycott is a good idea but I agree with Underachiever, It needs to be all in. On the flip side of the coin, will that play into their hands? they don't seem very interested so if it doesn't happen they will probably be happy?

It doesn't help that you pay your entry and then boycott, you just loose twice. Contact your club and get a vote of no confidence in towards the provincial governing body. 

 

regarding costs, its the same for everyone in every province, if you want the privilege to race for a medal, you have to pay.

Rather lets vote in a new committee and sort out the problem when the opportunity arises.

its not about the cost, we all know we need to pay. every province pays, every province has a proper setup event, except us - we also pay.......

Definitely agree, but this will not happen in the next week.  The champs are next week.  Boycott will be a great start to changing the current apathy.

 Ill pay and ride, that means that I give them my money and they have to deliver. Afterwards I can complain about what was delivered. If you pay and don't show up, you give them the day off and your money.  You lose twice. Your boycott wont change a thing. Maybe if you go stand with a banner in the middle of the road yes, but not showing up just gives you a DNS.

And not all Gauteng cyclists are part of Bikehub, so chances to get EVERYONE to boycott is not much.
