R511 for the spokes, R2200 for the hubs, R638 for the rims, R160 for the nipples and R300 to build them...

That's R3900 for a fully built 21mm wide (internal) wheelset delivered to your door with their backup and very well built.

Fark......that's wide.

I'd be interested to see how it goes, just for the sake of experimentation. And the weight is hardly huge @ 1,730g per set...

Only other alu rim that I know of in that bracket is the WTB scraper... EDIT: Though that's 45mm wide. Definitely for plus tyres. Apparently the Smokin Gun is for all tyres.

See they say that you can run narrower tyres to save weight.2.2 will sit like a 2.4.

These the rapides you talking about? If so, for about the same price ypu can get the 30 mm rim for about the same price. Internal wide h is 25mm

Can't comment on the WLs, but I have been using the AC Race wheels on two bikes for 3 years each. Never had a problem with either set and they do get hammered.

Anyone used both the AC Race and WL? Would like to hear your views.

I have. The race versions do ding alot easier here in the TGMTB trails,..Infact I had my 2nd or 3rd brandnew set on at Hoogekraal, and dinged it on the last 50m of that loop....I was sooo PO'd...

Over 5000kms on the WL and mere paint scratches visible here and there. Cant put my finger on why? Could be rim surface thats less exposed because of increased width, or stronger rim material..?
