Discs with lots of holes where there should be metal will be lighter but there is also less friction and they get hotter under load.

I'm very happy with shimano discs. Not the lightest but robust and they work well.

Brakes will work better if no air in the hydraulics and when the pistons/pads are aligned perfectly parallel to the disc surface.

ARE YOU SURE the problem is not the Formula R1's?

Ja my point was that if everything is mechanically healthy then some discs are more air space than metal - go for the ones with more friction area. You can also go up a size for more stopping power

weight 90kg

seems like most guys talk about the ice tech so might try it out

Does not matter which rotors it is.......when in motion keep fingers as far away as possible.

Excellent mini-amputation devices......or as the case this morning......

......instant manicure device.......(sailor language cum laude).

Would a change of pad material not make more difference?

Icetech rotors are alu sandwiched between steel facings. They really do run cooler than normal discs. Dunno if it makes them stop better but v happy with mine.
