Looking to buy this bike...any pros and cons would be helpful. ..looking to ride Joberg2c next year.

I've done 2x 50km rides in Stellenbosch with the new Camber, it is a brillliant and seriously capable bike, climbs very well.

It should do great in stage races if your not aiming for the top step on the podium and want to have some fun.

I recon the 2016 Camber Comp Carbon 29 is a very well spec'ed bike, I wouldn't mind having one myself.

No 650b's coming into SA.

I rode the camber comp carbon at modderfontein this weekend and it's a GREAT bike.

Main points of the 2016:

1. relaxed "evo" head tube angle

2. 1x11 (comp carbon and higher)

3. swat box on down tube (carbon models)

4. wide rims (29mm internal diameter)

5. Shimano brakes

6. 10 point spez dropper post

Handles great and feels light on uphills.

PERFECT for J2C, in my opinion.

That's bloody moronic. Would like to know what their reasoning is.

has anyone given the camber 29 a proper downhill thrashing? If so what do you think about it?

I'm a few drinks away from buying one but I like fast technical riding. #enduro

Ive  thrashed my Camber for 2years in Jonkers, Welvenpas, grabouw, etc and with a dropper its the shizzle. Ive havent come across a any trails that the bike cannot handle.

This is exactly what I want to hear. I have rented the stumpjumper from Ride In and was disappointed to be honest. The fork doesn't suit the bike. The camber looks much more balanced.

I have ridden my 2014 camber everywhere and can vouch for stevief's comment.

The 2016 has more travel than 2014: 120mm vs 110mm

The 2016 has the relaxed head tube angle of the 2014 Evo models.

I rode one at Modders and it was faster than the 3 other bikes I have tested there.

SA is 29er bedonnerd?  Who knows?

A good mate wants a camber 650b and cannot get one anywhere...

What's odd is that no less than THREE stumpy 650b 6fattie models are available from Spez SA, which is much more of a niche bike than the camber.

Go figure.

I have a 2014 Camber Comp Carbon with a few add on pimps (wheels, brakes dropper, for me its absolutely brilliant on trails and technical riding. I have seen the 2016 and must say was tempted to buy but looking at my bike I can easily ride it for another 2-3 years and save myself 55K

I have never heard of an unhappy Camber owner.

I would also like to state that 21k extra for a carbon frame is madness. Okay you do get a dropper and 1x11 extra (these extras would cost you 7k before selling your old components), but still 800 grams difference (wild guess)???.

I just bought the 2016 model. Huge upgrade for me considering me previous bike.

Only ridden it 4 times but what a bike!

It is indeed a trail machine that climbs well. Suspension is super comfy, and stiffens nicely for climbing. Downhill its just a beast. I haven't even got close to unlocking its potential yet. Still getting to use to it.

Exactly what I am doing as well
