Too many stories of lack of reliability with any dropperThis one is a simple design, and if anything goes wrong with it, they replace the gas strut. Which costs less than a Reverb service... From what I've read, the Giant droppers have been mostly faultless.

So ja... lets hope the first and last one.I reckon that issue is from something inside scraping, but credit to the giant guys telling you not to collect it when it was returned with a new set of internals, and the same scratch...

Ja absolutely. I did loosen the top cap after the scratch appeared and noticed that there was an indentation in the dust wiper's steel 'cage', so that might be where the scratch came from.... In the end though it is really only cosmetic as it wont affect the operation of the dropper.

And in this case it'd be a new stanchion. Not sure whether the economics of it would lead to a stanchion replacement over a full post replacement anyway...
