Ok, there was some humour in that, I'll give you that.

I don't eat 11 slices of bread a day, bread goes straight to "belly flab" for me. Bit of pasta (yeah, as bad as bread) and potatoes etc.

Cheers.

It wasn't humour, J. It was condescension. Big difference.

As for the 11 slices per day - absolutely. Same can be said for any starchy food. Goes straight to fat.

The advice might be outdated compared to what Noakes and others are preaching, but still, the old school methods works for me. A person doesn't have to climb onto every newest diet craze to trim down.

At 450 km's a week the world of carbohydrates is your oyster.....have a Woolies donut for me please.....

However. The carbs & sugar you've shown in your "diet" are far too high for us here, who are mere mortals and don't run 450km per month to get it all off again.

Most of the sugars I get in is via fruits (time for my 2x oranges now that I think about it). Fruits have lots of fibre, so that's mostly ok then. I avoid refined sugars wherever possible.

My training is between 4-6am btw.

I guess I can afford it as I train allot. But I do avoid foods (where possible) with high sugar content (most cereals are poison), and almost never add white/brown sugar to anything. Breakfast for me is usually a cup of bran and a cup of milk, no extra sugar.

If I was doing north of 20km per day during the week I wouldn't be in this position either. But then I could also eat what I wanted...

400-450km a month... I ain't running 60+km a day, hellz no.

Don't shop at Woolies, I prefer not to overpay for my food. Might have a saucer size choc chip cookie later though... Just have to do a bit of core exercises later with some plyometrics. Tomorrow 2h15m of running.

I actually find it quite easy to lose weight. All I have to do is eat balanced meals and exercise more.

Serious question for all...often you read about your body almost being programmed to maintain its weight. Would this apply to gaining weight as much as losing weight? I've struggled to do the former. I kinda yo-yo in a five-kg range. I eat well, and lots, and drink plenty of beer*.

*Yes, yes that massage-without-the-happy-ending beer known as Beck's Blue, but it still has plenty of carbs, right?

I am pleased to announce, however, that Ruby the St Bernard is down below 70 so we're kinda evenly massed if not matched at the moment.

Yep, it does. Mate of mine eats TONS, and doesn't shift from his current weight.

Yes Tumbles. I've read about how you body has a set weight programmed into it. Not pre programed because if you lose weight, you can change the programming. BUT in order to do that you have to maintain new weight for 6 months to a year. That's the hard part. The quick losing is easy for anyone who is committed. Gaining is much more difficult.
