When I rode BMX we just built jumps. If you crashed and burned you were the only one to blame. None of this indemnity mumbo in case someone's Mommy got involved because little baby sucked ass and paid the price. Just a bunch a blokes getting dirty and staying out of trouble(well sort of)

There's already quite a few jump lines in constantia area... Soetvlei (Justin Novella's line) then the well hidden jumps in Rhodes drive (better have permission to ride there - HECTICALLY "local only") and then Chris Nixon's place of course.

Not much open space that would be away from prying eyes and on council / state land.

do i have ride at soetvlei alot to start building there?

I'd suggest getting in tough with Justin's crew before attempting to do either. They've sculpted those jumps over many, many, many years so are rightly sensitive with new entrants.

Not sure about the Pinehurst jumps.

Oh. UCT also obv has some.

What are the jump lines between stellies and Sommerset West called? Those ones under the pine trees. Those look awesome.

Bellaire.

Jonty and Andrew started them. If you take the time to stop and actually look at them you might well soil your trousers.

The gaps are so big if you rigged tarps across them they could double as homeless shelters

don't know, but I've seen them too. Look good. Just wish I had the balls to hit stuff like that.

Yeah, quite daunting at first. If you know peeps who ride Lots just ask if they can lead you in a few times. Ribs, wrists and shoulders were made to be damaged... so you should be fine...

Remember the story about them wanting to sue the builder of the teeter totter on the Spruit when a rider fell and paralysed himself. Not sure how it ended but i know there was a big stink and lots of people ducking for cover.

Its really an unclear area the liability, but its always nice not to have to contemplate them suing you cause you and your mates built some lekker places to ride.

People who injure themselves severely  through their own stupidity can end up with big medical bills, so if they think they can hook someone with money to pay something to them and get some of their grievances aired, they may do it.

It all boils down to riding within you limits.
