The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee announced the following teams: Robert Hunter John-Lee Augustyn David George Burry Stander Yolande Speedy Tony Harding (Manager/Coach) Melvin Classen (Mechanic) Leon Schepers (Coach)

Amy Jane Mundy did win the recent SA MTB Champs held in Pietermaritzburg, however Yolande Speedy is ranked higher when it comes to UCI points. Yolande Speedy spent time racing on the Europe MTB circuit the last couple of years and thus she has more UCI points qualifying her for the Olympics!!
