The_black_stig Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 not sure why everyone got so worked up by this post Common-sense really are in short supply nowadays...
Mongoose! Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 .Again. Fokkol to do with height.Your opinion, and right to think so. But you will never convince me (as a tall rider) and quest also not the majority of tall riders...lol In the past our tall riders had to be satisfied with small wheels, although all the rest of our equipment was bigger / wider / longer, like XL frames , wider handlebars longer cranks. An XL bike with 26" wheels just look (and rides) k@k. Luckily that changes with the introducing of the 29" wheels But hey, we are now high jacking the OP thread with this debate, and we all know at the end it comes to personal preference...and height. so merry xmas all
Bizkit031 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 statement corrected. What shite are you smoking wheel size crap being thrown around again just before kismis

The frames were the right sizes for me and I have settled on 27.5 wheels and that feels right for me. People should stop listening to marketing BS.

Myself also enjoy smaller wheels from time to time...
Amberdrake Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I ride a 29er and I have ridden all other sizes at some point. My current bike is the ideal all round bike for me. How ever for trail ridding only I would like to have a 27.5, the bike just handles that bit better on the down.
Beefy Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Someone should let Greg Minnaar know to put 29" wheels on his XXL frame ????
porqui Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Proper bike setup and correct pressures all round. Learn to ride your bike (I mean it)
Martin PJ Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 You have a very cool bike, I think if you try to make changes to this bike you will be disappointed. Ride it for a year or so, then decide what you want to do.
Mongoose! Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Listen to Mayhem (again) Eish. Not so sure this time
Mongoose! Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Someone should let Greg Minnaar know to put 29" wheels on his XXL frame But his trail bike has 29er wheels on?
usxorf Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 27.5 vs 29... bleh. My 27.5" 2.4 MK circumference measures 72cm, my 29" 2.2 MK measures 72cm.
Bizkit031 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Eish. Not so sure this time Listening to you you should go and work for the marketing division for 29er wheels.
Bizkit031 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Mountain Chad maybe you should look at the Foes Mixer if you want the best of both world seeing that it's designed with both 29 and 27.5 wheels in mind.
