Hope the wind stays away. Dit het ons lekker geklap laas Saterdag met die Tip Trans.

I checked on Windyty and it seems to be breezy on Saturday, but nothing too serious. Will be mostly from the side. At least, that is what is currently predicted...

Still deciding if I am going to ride on someone les's number. Every one is getting stupid with the cut off dates for subs.

Also still not fit enough though. I will see after Saturday's ride.

Am doing my tried and tested routine:

I have focussed on my recovery and nutrition since the last race;

Lubed chain and pumped wheels last Wednesday;

Did an hour on the Spruit to confirm all working;

Did a slow loop at the Cradle on Saturday and a slightly faster one on Sunday;

Will ride to the top at Breedts and back to Hekpoort this weekend;

Will focus on tapering and carbo loading next week;

Based on how I feel, I will know how slow I will need to start next weekend.

Either way, I will keep my powder dry until AFTER I have crested the hill at 58km. For me the race starts on the downhill thereafter and I always pass lots of enthusiastic starters up Simola hill.

For the first timers, don't over analyse it: you have trained enough to finish and enjoy the ride as long as you don't blow up by going too hard over the first half.

Treat it as a ride and just have fun.

Okay guys as you see i am trying for a 4h30 ride. If my average must be +- 22km/h at the end what must my target (time and average) be at the 60km mark?

66km @ 3hours

88 @ 4hours
